Learning curve with UE5 - Jonathan Kohl
A major issue with production this week is becoming familiar with Unreal Engine 5. This version has been particularly challenging with getting AI to work. Also becoming familiar with the interface such as where to find tools has been slightly annoying since the interface has changed so much from what I am used to. Before getting to work I needed to take quite some time with refamiliarizing myself with UE5. I am still currently having issues debugging in the editor and trying to figure out why AI navigation is not working.
I am still currently having issues with getting the AI to navigate the map. I have checked all scripts, confirmed I have a navmesh and ensured all my variables have been set in the editor. I also tried comparing this project with my previous to check if there was anything that I completely missed. I have also used the debugging tools that can be found in the unreal editor. I am assuming this is an issue with UE5. I will continue to conduct research into this matter and my teammate Tray will soon help me try to troubleshoot this issue. As soon as we can get the AI to navigate the navmesh we will be able to make great progress.
